A Japanese green tea - classified as a type of Sencha tea - distinguished, like kabusecha tea, from other teas by being grown under the shade rather than full sun.
A larger quantity, steeped at a lower temperature and for a longer time is used than for other teas.
The name was given to a tea produced by the Yamamotoyama Tea Company.
