Cups, the main utensils of drinking tea, and the most important utensil besides the spoon. Some cups may have a handle, or may not. A cup can be made of many materials including porcelain and ceramic. Often tea cups are sold in matching sets, with saucers.

Other sets may contain a sugar bowl, cream jug, and a teapot. Cups may be, but are not always, wider and shorter than coffee cups. Many cups also have floral imprints and patterns on them. Chinese cups are very small, and normally hold no more than 30 milliliters of liquid, mostly they are designed to be used with Yixing teapots or Gaiwan.
